Lynchburg Tennessee was a little more than a 4 hour drive from Pigeon Forge. This was our first visit to the Jack Daniel's Distillery where I am a Tennessee Squire and property owner of 1 square inch (Plot 968K) at the Hollows. Being a Squire since 1982, I enjoy certain privileges when visiting Lynchburg. The 3 of us toured the distillery and at the end we had a tasting of 5 different varieties of whiskey. This in itself is wonderful being that Moore County where the distillery is located is a dry county. After tasting we went into the adjacent mercantile and purchased more whiskey than was probably necessary....But we are on the way to Texas for Thanksgiving so maybe it was necessary?
Angie & Larry Hagerman
After our trip to Key West we had the travel bug again later in 2016 and we decided the travel to El Paso, Texas to have Thanksgiving with our daughter Tonya and 3 grandkids Gabriel, Nathaniel & Mikayla. This time we had another rider Angie's son, Connor.
Renting another car this time a 2016 Dodge Charger we left Virginia November 16th bound for Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to experience Dollywood.
Then off to Lynchburg, Tennessee to visit the Jack Daniel Distillery where I am a Tennessee Squire, Plot #968K Thank You Very Much!!!
After a couple of days in Lynchburg off we went to El Paso, Texas. Thinking we would breeze through Texas, WRONG!! we definitely had a rude awakening. 16 hours later we finally make it to El Paso around 2 in the morning, meet Tonya and the kids, check into Ft. Bliss Army base go home and pass out.

Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood was our first stop in Tennessee.
Pigeon Forge is a massive tourist town with numerous attractions and restaurants to many to count or explore. Gatlinburg on the other hand is another tourist destination somewhat smaller located in the Great Smokey Mountains which offers a little more upscale fare. We didn't really do anything fancy this trip (other than Dollywood) to keep within our budget.
Dollywood on the other hand was the finest theme park I have ever visited including Busch Gardens Williamsburg which is a close second. It was clean, well laid out, costs were reasonable and the shows were very entertaining. The food wasn't to bad either.
Next stop Lynchburg, Tennessee...
